I wrote the attached back in 2015 for the Probate & Property magazine, a bimonthly publication of the Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law of the ABA.  At some point the editors stopped communicating with me, and eventually I concluded they did not intend to publish it.  A year later I was able to get it published in the North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.  There is a typo about halfway through that renders one sentence nearly meaningless.  The typescript as submitted is also attached here for clarity.
